Specificity: Recognizes Streptococcus Group A. No immunological crossreactivity with other Streptococcus Groups. There is potential non-specific crossreactivity with other organisms such as Streptococcus Group C and Staphyloccus due to the presence of Protein A like proteins (Staphyloccus) and Protein C (Streptococcus C) present on the intact surface of these bacteria. These proteins bind any immunoglobulin.
