Sphingosine

La sphingosine est un alcool gras comportant une double liaison et deux groupes hydroxyles. Elle possède également un groupe amine qui permet la fixation d'un acide gras via une liaison amide.

La sphingosine est à la base de la structure des sphingolipides, qui sont des lipides importants pour la membrane des cellules.

La sphingosine peut être phosphorylée pour former le sphingosine-1-phosphate, un puissant agent de signalisation lipidique.

La sphingosine est synthétisée à partir de la palmitoyl-CoA et de la sérine.
