Specificity: Recognizes human eosinophil major basic protein (14kD) irrespective of the stages of eosinophil activation and can be regarded as a "pan-eosinophil" marker. Recognizes secreted pro-form of MBP (Pregnancy associated MBP, 23.8kD) and mature form found in the matrix of the eosinophil large specific granule (13.8kD). Does not crossreact with equine, mouse or rat MBP.
