Specificity: This item specifically recognises an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) region of human FOXC2, otherwise known as Forkhead box C2, a member of the Forkhead family of transcription factors, linked with the fate of mesenchymal cells during embryogenesis, and with the regulation of vascular/lymphatic vessel formation in cardiovascular development and disease.
Mutations in the FOXC2 gene are responsible for the chronic disabling condition lymphedema hereditary type 2 (LYH2) and lymphedema-distichiasis (LYD).
