Specificity: This item recognises Human Interferon Regulatory Factor 3 (IRF3), a member of the interferon regulatory transcription family.
IRF3 exists as an inactive cytoplasmic form. dsRNA generated during viral infection leads to the phosphorylation of serine/threonine on the C-terminal. Phosphorylation results in dimerization of IRF3 and association with CREB binding protein. The resulting complex translocates to nucleus and activates the transcription of IFN-alpha and IFN-beta.
