Specificity: Recognizes human IgA Secretory Component. Reacts with both bound secretory component (secretory IgA) and with free secretory component. In immunoelectrophoresis against normal human milk, using a high electroendosmosis agar plate, free secretory component is precipitated in the alpha-2 region. Does not react with other molecular forms of IgA, or with any other secretory or plasma protein.

Purified by DEAE chromatography.

Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.2. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile ddH2O. Dilute further in PBS, pH 7.2.

Concentration: ~10 mg/ml (after reconstitution)

Storage Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
