Specificity: Recognizes human cytokeratins with molecular weights 52 and 45kD, corresponding to cytokeratins 8 and 18, respectively. Useful in the detection of adenocarcinomas, mesotheliomas and certain squamous epithelia-derived carcinomas. Interestingly, some epithelial tumors demonstrate cytokeratin 8 and 18 expression, but normal strati ed squamous epithelium does not.

Storage Stability: May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
