Specificity: Recognizes human integrin alphaVbeta5. Does not recognize integrin alphaVbeta3 or alpha5beta1. Binds to the alphaVbeta5 complex. Has a Kd of 2.8 nM in Mn2+, 4.0 nM in Ca2+and 2.9 nM in buffer lacking cation. Thus, cations do not significantly affect the binding to alphaVbeta5. Does not block ligand binding to purified alphaVbeta5, nor does it block cell adhesion mediated through this receptor.
