Specificity: This antibody recognises CD21, a type 1 transmembrane protein which is also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2). CD21 functions as a receptor for complement components C3d, C3dg and iC3b, and for EBV and for IFN alpha. CD21 is expressed strongly on mature B cells, follicular dentritic cells and weakly on immature thymocytes and T lymphocytes.
