Specificity: This item is specific for the the p50:p55 polypeptide complex associated with the early antigen of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). EBV early antigen is the first detectable marker of EBV infection in human cells. This item produces an intense diffuse and speckled staining pattern detectable in the nucleus of paraformaldehyde/acetone fixed cells expressing the EBV early nuclear antigen. Acetone and methanol fixation can be used, but the results are a less bright, coarsely granular nuclear staining pattern.
